Gateway Landscape Improvements Project Phase I

On May 27, 2020, the City Commission approved Reso R-2020-041, Adoption of Go-Forward Roadway Landscape Master Plan, April 2020. The master plan provides for the development of City streetscapes and contains design guidelines and typical conceptual designs that show preferred landscape and hardscape designs for each street type identified with the plan. This project includes the design development and construction of the Gateway Landscape Improvements (phase 1) Project in alignment with the Go-Forward Roadway Landscape Master Plan for the following three (3) identified gateway locations:

  1. Location 1 - Pine Island Road and Commercial Boulevard
  2. Location 2 - Rock Island Road and Bailey Road
  3. Location 3 - University Drive and Southgate Boulevard

The proposed work shall include removal & replacement of existing hardscape medians, landscape and irrigation improvements, decorative pavers installation and associated improvements along existing, identified corridor medians and/or right-of-way planting areas. The proposed work shall provide an enhanced appearance at these gateway locations, meeting beautification initiatives while promoting the City of Tamarac’s Strategic Goal, Tamarac is Vibrant.

Project Update I
Consultant submitted 100% plans to Broward County and FDOT for review. Both agencies provided comments needing to be addressed by the design consultant before being approved.
