The City of Tamarac regulates Vacation Rentals under Article XIII – Vacation Rentals Registration of the City’s Code of Ordinances. The purpose of this article is to protect the residential character, health, safety, and welfare of the community.
The City monitors and regulates Vacation Rentals to ensure they operate responsibly and in full compliance with City and State requirements.
It is unlawful for any property owner to rent or operate a Vacation Rental in violation of the procedures and regulations established in Article XIII or applicable Florida law.
Who is required to Register
- ✓ Any single‑family home
- ✓ Any duplex (two-unit residence)
- ✓ Any triplex (three-unit residence)
- ✓ Any four-unit residence
- ✓ Any Condominium
✅ These must register if they are rented for periods of less than thirty (30) days or one calendar month, more than three (3) times per calendar year, or is advertised for transient occupancy.
👉 ❗ Timeshare properties are NOT required to register.
