The City of Tamarac is proud to announce its official certification as a Florida Green Local Government, a prestigious designation awarded by the Florida Green Building Coalition. This nonprofit organization honors municipalities that demonstrate outstanding environmental leadership and commitment to sustainability.

This achievement reflects the collaborative efforts of city departments and employees who have embraced eco-conscious practices and integrated them into daily operations. From energy efficiency to waste reduction, Tamarac is setting a high standard for environmental stewardship in local government.

🌿 A Leader in Green Initiatives 

The City of Tamarac has been a pioneer in environmental leadership. In May 2008, it became the First local government in South Florida to earn Silver-level certification as a Florida Green Local Government. Building on that momentum, Tamarac reached Gold-level certification in May 2010, joining an elite group of only two cities in the region to achieve this distinction.

This recognition reflects Tamarac’s long-standing commitment to sustainable practices and its role as a model for green governance across Florida.
