Foreclosure / At-Risk Property Registration (Vacant Property Registry)
The City of Tamarac requires mortgagees to register abandoned (vacant) residential properties when a mortgage is in default and the property is determined to be vacant or shows evidence of vacancy. Registration helps ensure properties are properly maintained and secured and that the City has a local contact responsible for upkeep.
Mortgagees must provide required contact information, including a direct contact for the mortgagee and, if applicable, a local property management company responsible for the property’s security and maintenance. Registrations are required for each property and must be renewed annually until the property is no longer considered abandoned.
Annual Registration Fee: $150 per property.
